HB 2415 – Active Early Voting Lists; Removal

Co-sponsored by Rep. Cook, this bill would decrease, from
two consecutive election cycles (approximately four years) to one election cycle (two years), the number of election cycles in which a person may fail to vote and remain on the AEVL and eligible to automatically receive an early ballot by mail. This is yet another of many bills designed to trip up Arizona
voters and make it more difficult for them to cast their ballots. There are many reasons that may cause a person may miss an election; for example, an unanticipated emergency, a vehicle breakdown, extended travel, caregiving demands, or an illness or accident. Life happens. That shouldn’t be a reason to create more burdens on voters.
